Marine Data Solutions Acquisition of Majority Shareholding in MRAD

I am extremely pleased to advise you that a historic agreement was signed this week which sees Marine Data Solutions (MDSol) become the new majority shareholder in MRAD.

MDSol, part of the global Kongsberg Group, are market leaders in maritime surveillance technologies in Africa, with the largest installed base of marine domain awareness (MDA) technologies on the African continent.

Having worked with MDSol on a variety of projects in the last two years, we have found that our two companies share a similar organisational culture, commitment to excellence and focused customer service. Our respective areas of expertise will bring a new, and hitherto unmatched, level of service, technology and product support to both our customer bases.

While at MRAD our focus will still be on you, our customer, this acquisition will present new and exciting opportunities for growth, through MDSol’s significant geographic reach and logistical capabilities.

With our strong brand equity in the market and 18 year industry track record, MRAD will continue to operate independently under our current brand name, albeit as part of the MDSol group of companies.

Brad Baker will continue in his role as Workshop Manager and I will continue as General Manager; while Steve Nell, Managing Director of MDSol will also assume the role of Managing Director of MRAD.
